CIRCAN Trainee Committee Recruitment is OPEN!

The Children’s Inpatient Research Collaboration of Australia and New Zealand (CIRCAN) is recruiting paediatric trainees to form a trainee group that will work together to help with:
1) Supporting and engaging paediatric trainees in CIRCAN’s work and paediatric research
2) Paediatric research projects with support from CIRCAN and senior researchers

Eligible applicants:
Australian and New Zealand Paediatric trainees – residents, registrars and fellows. EOIs from medical students, nursing and allied health trainees, doctoral candidates and other paediatric healthcare researchers in training/study programs will also be reviewed if submitted but may be utilized to form other groupings or connections within CIRCAN depending on research interests and needs.

Opportunities provided include:

  • Networking and support with trainees and supervisors invested in paediatric
    inpatient research
  • Potential supervision/projects suitable for RACP AT College requirements
  • Recognition for contribution to CIRCAN research, opportunity for publication in journals and presentation at CIRCAN Symposium and other research
    meetings

Time commitment expected includes: 

  • Regular attendance at monthly meeting (likely afterhours on a weekday, but TBC)
  • Attendance where possible at CIRCAN member meetings (monthly on 1 st Thursday 12pm AEST/Sydney time)
  • Commitment to contribute to a project of choice aligned with goals 1) and/or 2).

1) A copy of your CV (maximum 4 A4 pages, including phone, email contact, current position, research experience and two nominating referees available for contact, ideally including one existing CIRCAN member
2) A letter of interest (maximum 1 A4 page detailing why you are interested in, ideas for projects or research avenues of personal interest, your strengths and relevant experience)
3) Optional: A brief letter of recommendation from a clinical or research supervisor/head of department/director of training supporting involvement (maximum 1 A4 page)
